Nitrogen Generator Worksop: On-Site Generation for Industrial Sites
A nitrogen generator must deliver the required purity, flow and pressure when production needs it. Search Air, Atlas Copco Premier Distributor, specifies, installs and maintains on-site nitrogen generation systems for industrial sites in Worksop and surrounding areas.
We assess the process and compressed-air supply before recommending equipment. This prevents an unsuitable generator from becoming a restriction on production.
On-Site Nitrogen Supply for Worksop Industry
On-site generation reduces dependence on recurring nitrogen deliveries by producing gas at the point of use. The right result depends on specifying the complete system, not simply selecting a generator from a product list.
We supply nitrogen and oxygen generators for measured industrial requirements. Our work covers the compressed-air assessment, air treatment, generator selection, installation and ongoing maintenance.
Bassetlaw Council identifies advanced manufacturing, logistics and food production within its grants guidance for the local economy. These sectors can contain processes that use nitrogen, but the sector alone does not determine the specification. We work from the actual application, duty cycle and gas-quality requirement at your site.
Specifying the Generator Around Your Process
The first figures we need are nitrogen flow, operating pressure, required purity and demand pattern. We also establish whether the process can tolerate short variations or requires a tightly controlled residual-oxygen level.
Atlas Copco explains that pressure swing adsorption and membrane generation use different separation methods. A PSA generator passes compressed air through alternating vessels containing carbon molecular sieve. A membrane generator separates gases by differential permeation through hollow fibres.
For a first assessment, membrane generation is considered for moderate-purity duties. PSA is considered where the process requires higher purity or tighter control of residual oxygen. The final recommendation remains conditional on measured process requirements. A higher purity setting than the application needs can increase the work required from the compressed-air system without improving the finished process.
We have been an Atlas Copco Premier Distributor since 2002. Our engineers use that experience to compare generator technology against the application rather than treating PSA as the automatic answer for every site.
Preparing the Compressed-Air Supply
Both PSA and membrane generators require a suitable supply of clean, dry compressed air. Pressure stability, air quality, available flow and treatment capacity all affect the nitrogen generator’s performance.
Our assessment checks the existing compressor, dryer, filters, controls and distribution pipework. If the current system cannot support the proposed generator, we identify the restriction before installation. We can then specify the necessary air treatment or system changes as part of the project.
Sites that also need compressor maintenance, repairs or system support can use our air compressor services in Worksop. This keeps the generator and its compressed-air supply within one service plan where appropriate.
Controlling Nitrogen Safety on Site
Nitrogen is colourless and odourless. A leak may therefore create a hazardous atmosphere without giving people an obvious warning.
The Health and Safety Executive warns that nitrogen can displace oxygen and cause asphyxiation. Ventilation, monitoring and other controls must follow the site risk assessment and reflect where nitrogen could escape or accumulate. We consider generator position, discharge arrangements and the surrounding work area during installation planning.
When Does On-Site Generation Fit?
A generator is worth assessing when nitrogen demand is recurring, production depends on a stable supply, or delivered gas creates an operational constraint. Our guide to the benefits of on-site nitrogen generation explains the wider operational case.
Low or irregular consumption can change the recommendation. Delivered cylinders may remain practical for some sites, while another facility may retain them as backup after installing a generator. That decision depends on measured demand and the consequence of losing supply.
Request a Nitrogen Generator Assessment in Worksop
Send us your required nitrogen purity, flow, operating pressure, hours of use and any available compressed-air data. We will assess the application, identify whether PSA or membrane technology fits, and define the air treatment and installation work required.
Search Air provides clear, agreed pricing for the proposed scope. We identify and quote work outside that scope separately. Contact us to arrange a nitrogen generator assessment at your Worksop site.
