Nitrogen Generator East Yorkshire
When nitrogen deliveries begin dictating production schedules, the problem is no longer only the gas price. Storage, handling, supply interruptions and variable demand all affect the plant.
Search Air, Atlas Copco Premier Distributor, specifies, installs and maintains on-site nitrogen generation systems for industrial sites across East Yorkshire and surrounding areas. We assess the required purity, flow and pressure, then match the generator, compressed-air supply and air treatment to the process.
We have been an Atlas Copco Premier Distributor since 2002. That experience matters because a generator cannot be specified in isolation from the compressor, dryer, filtration, controls and distribution pipework feeding it.
A Nitrogen System Sized From Measured Demand
A generator should produce the nitrogen your process needs at the point of use. Oversizing adds unnecessary capital and running cost. Undersizing leaves the process short of gas when demand rises.
Our compressed-air assessment establishes:
- Required nitrogen purity and residual-oxygen limit
- Minimum, average and peak flow
- Delivery pressure at the point of use
- Operating hours and changes between shifts
- Existing compressor capacity and compressed-air quality
- Installation space, ventilation and connection requirements
We use those findings to specify the generator, air treatment and controls. If the existing compressed-air system is suitable, we work with it. If capacity or air quality is insufficient, we explain what must change before installation. Our nitrogen and oxygen generators service covers equipment selection through to installation and ongoing maintenance.
PSA or Membrane Generation?
Atlas Copco explains that both pressure swing adsorption, known as PSA, and membrane generation need clean, dry compressed air. PSA uses alternating vessels filled with carbon molecular sieve. Membrane generation separates gases through hollow fibres.
Membrane generation is generally considered for moderate-purity duties. PSA is considered when the measured process requirement calls for higher purity or a tighter residual-oxygen limit. The right answer can change with flow, pressure and demand pattern, so we do not select technology from the industry name alone. If you are comparing the commercial case, review the benefits of on-site nitrogen generation.
What Our East Yorkshire Nitrogen Generator Service Includes
We manage the system as one installation, not as a generator added to an unknown air supply. Our work can include:
- Site survey and compressed-air assessment
- PSA or membrane generator specification
- Air treatment specification
- Installation
- Planned service and maintenance
The survey identifies the condition of the supporting compressor, dryer and filtration. This avoids specifying a generator around an air supply that cannot deliver the required quality or volume. Where the wider system needs attention, our air compressor services in East Yorkshire provide a clear route for assessment, maintenance and remedial work.
As an Atlas Copco Premier Distributor, we provide factory-trained engineers and genuine Atlas Copco parts. We use clear, agreed pricing. Any work outside the agreed scope is identified and quoted separately.
Regional Experience Without Assumptions
The East Riding economic strategy identifies manufacturing and engineering as major employers and notes established chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food-related activity. Those sectors help explain the range of process requirements found across East Yorkshire. They do not prove that any individual site needs nitrogen. Purity, flow, pressure and duty still have to be measured.
Nitrogen Safety Starts With the Site Assessment
The Health and Safety Executive warns that nitrogen can displace oxygen and create an asphyxiation hazard.
Ventilation, monitoring and other controls must follow the site risk assessment and reflect where nitrogen could escape or accumulate. We account for the installation area, discharge points, pipe routes and operating practice when planning the system. The controls must suit the site, not a generic layout.
Is On-Site Nitrogen the Right Fit?
On-site generation is worth assessing when nitrogen is a regular production input and the site can define its gas demand. We may recommend keeping delivered gas for low, intermittent or temporary use. The comparison depends on actual consumption, required purity, delivery arrangements and the condition of the compressed-air system.
For a useful quotation, send us your required purity, flow, pressure, operating hours and recent gas-consumption information. Search Air will assess the process, inspect the supporting compressed-air system and set out the recommended equipment and installation scope.
